Frozen Pipes Can Cause A Lot of Damage

The owners of this Oak Park house were out of town for a month when their pipes froze and burst.  No one checked on the house and by the time they arrived home, water leaked from the second floor down to the basement.  Much of the water froze on the walls and floors.  The owner called SERVPRO.  We packed out all their content and stored it at our warehouse then we got to work removing all the affected structure down to the studs.  Drying equipment was left to dry the stud walls and subfloor.  Be smart and make sure you shut your water off before going out of town.
